Pakistan has carried out attacks on at least 3 Afghan cities in response to earlier strikes from Afghanistan.
Both sides have claimed, heavy casualties in exchange of fire, with reports of 133 Taliban fighters and 55 Pakistani soldiers killed.
The escalation began when Afghan forces targeted Pakistani military positions along the border on Thursday, causing casualties.
In response, Pakistan launched midnight strikes in Kabul and Kandahar. Pakistan Defense Minister, declared an “open war” on social media platform X.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid later claimed counter-attacks in Kandahar and Helmand.
Pakistan also said, it carried out immediate retaliatory strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, destroying several military posts during the clashes.
