Sohag's murder was not due to any political motive but rather personal and business-related disputes—this was stated by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjad Ali.
At a media briefing held at DMP Media Center on Mintu Road in the capital, the Commissioner also said, in connection with Sohag's murder at Mitford, a total of 9 individuals, including the two main accused who crushed the victim with stones, have been arrested.
After the incident, the victim's family filed a case, naming 23 individuals as accused.
The Commissioner said, Sohag was involved in illegal trade along with nephew of former MP Haji Selim.
After political change in the country, Sohag resumed the business, which led to the conflict.
