Small and medium poultry farmers in Bangladesh have called for stronger government support to protect the industry.
Speaking at a press conference at National Press Club, leaders of the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Association urged the government to introduce a national digital database for all registered poultry farms.
They also called for a special protection program and the immediate launch of a poultry insurance scheme.
The farmers also demanded fair and profitable prices for eggs, revisions to the national poultry policy, low-interest loans for small and medium farms, and full financial support to reopen closed farms.
