Top-level European football is back. On August 15, the new European club football season officially begins with three major leagues England's Premier League, Spain's La Liga, and France's Ligue 1 -all kicking off on the same day.
After the 2024–25 season ended with the FIFA Club World Cup in July, football returns fast.
The 2025–26 season kicks off on August 15 with a triple opener: Premier League champions Liverpool host Bournemouth, Girona face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, and Marseille take on Rennes in Ligue 1.
Germany’s Bundesliga starts August 22 with Bayern vs. Leipzig, and Italy’s Serie A begins August 23, marking its 124th season. UEFA club competitions follow soon after.
The Champions League group stage begins September 16, with the draw set for August 28. The Europa League kicks off September 24.
