The ongoing gas crisis is causing severe disruption across the country, with motorists forced to wait for hours at CNG filling stations due to low gas pressure. The shortage is also affecting households and industries, where irregular gas supply is disrupting daily life and production
Transport operators say, the crisis has significantly reduced their daily income, while factory owners are struggling to maintain production because of the inconsistent gas supply.
According to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, it may take up to two weeks to fully restore operations at the floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali.
Since the terminal went offline, imported gas supply to the national grid has dropped by nearly half over the past five days, intensifying the nationwide gas shortage.
