Ahead of Eid, prices of seasoning are heating up in the capital's kitchen markets. Cardamom prices have increased by Tk 200 to Tk 300 per kg within a span of week.
Each kg is being sold at Tk 4500 to Tk 4800.
Cumin is being sold at Tk 680 to Tk 700 per kg, increased by Tk 50 per kg.
Cashew nuts price have increased by Tk 20 to Tk 40 per kg.
Retailers said that the prices of spices are being gradually increased by syndicates.
Owing to such high prices, many are returning without buying.
However, soybean oil is being sold at Tk 178 per liter, down by Tk 2. Fish prices have also decreased.
