A serious medical error has been reported at Upazila Health Complex in Tangail’s Bhuapur. A one-month-old baby was allegedly given rabies vaccine instead of routine immunization.
The issue came to light after a news report of DBC news triggered widespread criticism and concern.
Following the incident, the family reportedly faced intimidation, and there were allegations of obstruction towards journalists.
Authorities said, a health assistant was accused of threatening to stop rabies vaccination services at the facility.
Meanwhile, after the news aired, the High Court issued a notice asking the government to explain why Tk 50 lakh compensation should not be paid to the child’s family.
