Chief of electoral system reform commission Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder has said their intention is not to keep anyone away from election, but to make electoral arena free from corruption.
He came up with the statement in a discussion with the members of RFED, an organization of election beat journalists at the election building at Agargaon in the capital this morning.
He said, if the political arena is not free from criminals, there will be crimes again.
Badiul Alam also commented that those who killed, disappeared, and violated serious human rights during July movement, people of Bangladesh do not want them in power.
Attention is being paid to ensure that if someone is found guilty by the International Crimes Tribunal or a judicial court, they cannot participate in the election.
