Continuous heavy rainfall, leading to severe flooding in multiple districts and widespread suffering for residents across the country.
In Feni, record rainfall has caused major damage to the embankments of the Muhuri, Kohua, and Silonia rivers in at least 11 locations across the Phulgazi and Parshuram upazilas.
As a result, at least 25 villages have been submerged, leaving thousands of residents stranded. In Noakhali, intermittent rainfall continues, with low-lying areas experiencing water-logging.
In Satkhira, the flood situation has worsened. New areas are being submerged each day due to persistent rainfall. Water has entered homes, destroyed crops severely affecting the livelihoods of local communities.
Khagrachari is also facing severe flooding in its low-lying areas. In response, authorities have opened over a hundred shelter centers to accommodate affected residents.
Meanwhile, in Cox's Bazar’s Teknaf region, floodwaters are gradually receding due to a decrease in rainfall, offering a glimmer of hope for residents in the affected areas. However, Relief and rescue efforts are underway across the flood-hit regions.
