River water levels are rising in several districts of Bangladesh due to heavy rainfall and upstream water flow. Authorities warn of possible short-term flooding.

Water has started entering homes, farmland, and low-lying areas near the Teesta River and in parts of Sunamganj.

The Water Development Board said continuous rainfall in India’s Cherrapunji has increased water levels in border rivers.

Meanwhile, heavy rain and water coming from the hills of Meghalaya have caused river levels to rise quickly in different areas of Sherpur.

Low-lying regions may face flooding if the situation continues.
