Dinajpur Police said, the road crash occurred at dawn in Panchpir area of Bhognagar Union on the Dinajpur–Thakurgaon highway. 

Biker Nazmul Islam was travelling to Thakurgaon from Birganj on a motorcycle with his wife and son when a pickup truck struck them from behind near Panchpir. 

His wife, Fahima Akter, and their son, Abdullah, were killed on the spot, while Nazmul sustained critical injuries and was admitted to Birganj Upazila Health Complex. 

Also on the day, a woman was killed after being hit by a bus while crossing the road at Khila Bazar on Cumilla–Noakhali regional highway,, and another person died when a bus crashed into the rear of a truck at Natherpetua.
