Authorities say the plane lost contact during a routine flight due to technical failure.

A Russian military An-26 transport aircraft has crashed in Crimea, killing all 29 people on board, including six crew members. 

According to Russia’s Defence Ministry, the aircraft lost contact during a routine flight before going down in a bay. 

Initial reports suggest a technical malfunction caused the crash. 

The An-26 is a Soviet-era military transport plane that has been involved in multiple accidents in the past.
