Explosions were heard across Kyiv from the early hours of Monday as Russia carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack. 

Ukraine's air defense systems were activated to shoot down incoming drones, but several areas were still hit. 

At least four residential buildings in Kyiv's historic Podilskyi district were damaged. 

Rescue teams recovered two bodies from one of the buildings and continue searching for survivors. 

Authorities are assessing the damage while emergency crews remain on the ground.
