Canadian expatriate footballer Samit Som has arrived in Dhaka this morning to play in the AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against Singapore.
He expressed his hopes of performing well in the upcoming match.
Landing in Dhaka early Wednesday, Samit shared his optimism about the June 10th match.
Later in the morning, he joined the national training camp, completing the trio of new expatriate players alongside Fahamidul Islam and Hamza Choudhury.
Samit is set to become the first player in Bangladesh's history to have previously represented another country's national team.
He has played three international matches for Canada but will now wear the Bangladesh jersey.
It has been reported that he will watch the Bangladesh vs. Bhutan match this evening at the Dhaka National Stadium.
Following that, he will join the training sessions in preparation for the Singapore match.
