According to local authorities, at least 44 armed militants and three police officers have been killed in separate security operations in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces on Wednesday.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, militants attacked a police checkpoint, triggering a gun battle that left three police officers dead and Eighteen police personnel injured.
Security forces later launched a counter-operation, killing eight militants. Pakistan's military media wing said, security forces killed 24 militants in multiple operations in Khyber district,and another eight militants in a separate operation in Nushki district of Balochistan.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered and destroyed during the raids.
Meanwhile, police reported that four suspected militants killed in an ongoing operation in Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
