The fire started early in the morning in the slum at Goaal Para in Enayet Bazar, Chattogram.

 Upon receiving the news, the fire service rushed to the scene. 

Five firefighting units worked for half an hour to bring the blaze under control. 

Several houses were completely destroyed in the fire. The initial cause of the fire is yet to be determined. 

However, eyewitnesses suspect it may have started from a cooking stove. No casualties were reported in the incident.
