A severe gas shortage triggered by a technical fault at a floating LNG terminal has disrupted industrial production across Bangladesh, causing widespread hardship for factories, households, and the transportation sector.
The crisis has severely affected daily life in Narsingdi, where CNG filling stations remained open but were unable to supply gas throughout the day.
More than 300 factories in the district have also been hit by the shortage, significantly hampering production.
Several gas-dependent industries have already announced temporary shutdowns.
Authorities are prioritizing gas supply to the Ghorashal-Palash urea fertilizer plant, while households across the district continue to experience acute shortages.
