Two former senior officials of Ekattor TV, including former managing director Mozammel Babu and reporter Farzana Rupa, have been questioned in the Shapla Chattar case by the International Crimes Tribunal investigation team.
Investigators say both accused claimed they were acting on higher instructions and denied direct responsibility.
During questioning, they were shown video footage of press conferences held before August 5.
Mozammel Babu claimed the videos were created using artificial intelligence.
Earlier, the prosecution sought their arrest in the Shapla Chattar case, and the tribunal approved custody for interrogation.
Prosecutors allege that during the May 5, 2013 Hefazat rally, they spread false information and helped cover up the killings.
