National Shop Employees Federation, has placed a 7-point demand before newly formed government ---- including issuance of appointment letters, formation of a wage board, weekly holidays, fixed working hours, Eid bonuses, and timely payment of wages and allowances.
At a press conference held at National Press Club, the federation demanded Eid bonuses and overtime allowances for nearly 6-lakh employees working in shops, retail outlets, shopping malls, and chain shops across the country.
Speaking at the event, the federation’s General Secretary, Amirul Haque Amin said, if their demands are not met, the organization will continue holding meetings and rallies, and will submit memorandums to the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, the Ministry of Labour, and the Bangladesh Employers Federation.
