The trial of the high-profile murder case involving child victim Ramisa has officially begun, after a Dhaka court framed charges against the main accused, Sohel Rana, and his wife, Swapna Khatun. Testimony in the case is scheduled to begin tomorrow.
The order was issued around 11:30am by the Dhaka Metropolitan Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
Earlier in the morning, both accused were brought before the court.
Ramisa's body was recovered on May-19 from an apartment building in Pallabi's Section 11.
According to investigators, Sohel Rana, a neighbor of the victim, allegedly raped and killed the child before mutilating the body.
Following the incident, Ramisa's father, Abdul Hannan Molla, filed a case against Sohel Rana and his wife.
The tribunal accepted the charge sheet against the two accused on May 24.
