Trials have begun in three corruption cases involving ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and daughter Saima Wazed Putul over allegations of plot corruption in Purbachal.
Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court No. 5 has started taking witness testimonies in the case.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Salahuddin, Assistant Director Afnaan Jannat Keya, and SM Rashedul Hasan have been presented in court.
The ACC filed three cases accusing them of misusing power to illegally acquire 30 kathas of government land in the Purbachal New Town Project.Earlier, on July 31, the court ordered the trial to begin by framing charges against the accused in these three cases.
