US President Donald Trump has said a peace deal between the United States and Iran will be signed today. But Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied that any agreement will be signed today.
Trump says the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened for everyone immediately after the deal is signed. Pakistan, the mediator between the two sides, has also made a similar claim. However, Iran says there will be no final agreement today.
Tehran says the proposed memorandum is not a final deal, but only a basic framework to continue negotiations. Talks on major issues, including Iran’s nuclear program and the release of frozen funds, are expected to continue for the next 60 days.
