Trump also posted a map on social media, identifying the Strait of Hormuz as US territory. 

The move has drawn strong protests from Tehran. Iran’s Parliament Speaker said the strait will not be reopened unless the naval blockade and sanctions are lifted. 

He also reaffirmed that the blockade will remain in place. Meanwhile, the UAE has suspended all trade with Iran over allegations of ballistic missile attacks.
