In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, he had decided to halt the planned attack to allow continued negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement with Tehran.

Donald Trump claimed, Washington had been prepared to use an unprecedented level of military power not seen since the Second World War. 

However, he said the decision to suspend the strike was made at the request of Iran and several other countries. 

Trump also stated that Washington and Tehran had agreed on the framework of a deal and that discussions were ongoing

Earlier, Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council warned that Tehran would further tighten restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz unless the United States lifted its naval blockade.
