Two motorcyclists were killed in a tragic accident at the Jazira end of the Padma Bridge after being hit by a bus late Saturday night. In a separate incident, seven people were injured in a bus crash in Rajair, Madaripur.
According to the Highway Police, the fatal collision occurred around 11:30 PM near the toll plaza in Naodoba, Shariatpur.
A bus struck a motorcycle from behind, killing both riders on the spot. One of the victims was identified as Ontu, a resident of Hemayetpur in Savar. The identity of the second victim remains unknown.
Meanwhile, on the same night, a Sakura Paribahan bus heading toward Barishal overturned after hitting a road divider in Kalibari, Madaripur.
Seven passengers sustained injuries. Local residents rushed to the scene and transported the injured to Rajair Upazila Health Complex.
Three of the victims were later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
