Two more children have died with measles-like symptoms in Mymensingh and Cumilla districts, raising fresh concern over on going outbreak in the region.
Health officials say, the situation is becoming more serious as new cases continue to rise.
In the past 24 hours, one child died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, bringing the total deaths in the district to 32.
During the same period, 24 new patients were admitted, while 17 recovered and returned home.
At present, 102 children are receiving treatment in the hospital’s measles isolation ward.
Meanwhile, another child from Cumilla died at DNCC Hospital in Dhaka, taking the total measles-related deaths in Cumilla to 8.
