He made the remarks this morning while participating in a leaflet distribution program at Mohakhali Bus Terminal in observance of July 16 Martyrs’ Day. 

Speaking to reporters, the BRTA Chairman stated that a countrywide crackdown is currently underway against expired and unfit vehicles.

He re-affirmed the government's commitment to taking strict action to ensure road safety and bring back order in the transport sector.

Referring to the tragic death of Abu Sayeed, who killed during last year's July uprising the BRTA Chairman said that the nation will forever remember the sacrifice of Abu Sayeed and his contribution has become a symbol of the movement for justice.
