According to officials, 190 buildings were completely destroyed, leaving more than 16,000 people without homes. 

Authorities have set up 80 temporary shelters for those affected. 

Rescue workers have pulled at least 6,500 people alive from the rubble, while nearly 30,000 emergency personnel, including international teams, continue search-and-rescue operations. 

Security forces have also been deployed across the hardest-hit areas to maintain order and support relief efforts. 

Officials say a new military emergency unit will help improve the country's response to future natural disasters.
