Water levels in Feni's low-lying areas and the Muhuri River have begun to recede, revealing widespread flood damage.
As there is no heavy rainfall over the past 2 days, water from the in-undated villages has started to drain, easing the crisis in the affected areas.
Earlier, continuous rain and upstream water from India caused a breach in the embankment at Uttar Baroiya in Fulgazi on Thursday night.
Several homes in at least four villages were flooded, leaving residents in severe hardship. Floodwaters also damaged shops in the Fulgazi market area.
Meanwhile, the Water Development Board said that Muhuri River is now flowing below the danger level and emergency repairs are underway at vulnerable embankment points.
