Due to depression in the Bay of Bengal, there is light to moderate rain in different parts of the country including the capital.

The water level of all the rivers in the district including Sugandha and Bishkhali in Jhalokathi has increased by 2-3 feet. Water has entered half a hundred educational institutions including schools and madrasas.
At least 30 villages have been submerged. Hundreds of houses in Aura, Shauljalia and Aur-bunia shelter projects in Jhalokathi have been submerged by tidal water. The road along the bank of Bishkhali River in Kathalia village and the embankment of Chingrakhali canal were broken.
Due to the effect of the full moon, the water in the Bishkhali and Payra rivers of Patuakhali is rising and flowing over danger mark. Meanwhile, low-lying areas have been flooded in Barguna due to continuous rains and tidal water.
