Iran has been started their FIFA World Cup campaign with a draw. They came from behind twice to hold New Zealand to a 2-2 draw in an exciting match.
New Zealand took the lead in the seventh minute through Elijah Just’s brilliant finish.
Iran fought back and equalised in the 32nd minute when Ramin Rezaeian scored from inside the box.
After the break, Elijah Just scored his second goal to put New Zealand ahead again.
Iran levelled the match in the 64th minute as Mohammad Mohebi headed the ball into the net.
Despite several attacking chances from both sides, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
New Zealand returned to the World Cup after 12 years and earned a point against Iran.
