Additional Commissioner of DMP Hafiz Akter has said, police are trying to ascertain the DNA test of BNP leader Haris Chowdhury with the name of Mahmudur Rahman.
He said this at a briefing held at DMP Media Center in the morning. Harish Chowdhury's family has also agreed to the DNA test to remove any doubts about his identity.
Barrister Samira Chowdhury, a London expatriate daughter of Haris Chowdhury, has sent a letter to the Prime Minister in this regard. The same letter has also been sent to the Home Minister and the CID chief.
Earlier, it was reported that Haris Chowdhury, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the August 21 grenade attack case. It is learned that he was staying in the name of Mahmudur Rahman on the Panthapath of the capital, evading the eyes of the law enforcement agencies.
