Arms Case: DGHS driver Malek to serve 15 yrs jail

Dhaka Additional 3rd Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court has awarded 15 years jail to DGHS driver Abdul Malek in an arms case, filed against him with Turag police station.

Judge Robiul Alam handed down the verdict on Monday. A total of 13 prosecution witnesses were examined by the court in the case. Investigation officer and sub-inspector Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury of RAB-1 filed a charge sheet in the case on January 11, 2021.

The court on February 14 accepted it. The court on April 4 framed charges in the case. A team of RAB on September 20, 2020, arrested Malek for his involvement in businesses of illegal arms, fake notes, and other illegal activities. RAB at the same time recovered a foreign-made pistol, one magazine, five bullets, fake notes of Taka 1.5 lac, a laptop, and a mobile phone.
