Rashid Khan’s team is expected to travel to Australia to play the 1 match series on the 27th of September. The match was originally scheduled for December 2020 but COVID complications delayed it to September 2021. According to a statement from the ruling Taliban, it seeks positive relations with all countries and will allow previously organized international matches to continue.

Nevertheless, concerns remain over the status of the Afghan women’s cricket team. Afghanistan was only awarded ICC full member status in 2017, and this will be their first test match against Australia. Captain Rashid Khan will hope for a good outcome against an established team like Australia.
