The information was shared on Saturday in a social media post by World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Gheb-re-yesus.

The attack was carried out at the Al-Dein Teaching Hospital in Al Daein, the capital of East Darfur state in Sudan. Among the dead were several patients, two nurses, and one doctor.

Around 89 others, including healthcare workers, were injured. 

The hospital’s pediatric, maternity, and emergency departments were damaged in the attack, leading to the suspension of emergency medical services in the city. 

It remains unclear who was responsible for the assault.
